History of our ice cream
It all begins in Buchach, a town which was then part of the Eastern Borderlands.
Zbigniew Grycan’s grandfather, Grzegorz, starts the ice cream-making tradition,
formulates the first recipes.
The family tradition is continued by his son Józef.
Zbigniew Grycan’s parents, Józef and Weronika, establish the first ice cream parlour
in post-war Poland in Wrocław.
Zbigniew Grycan works at a prestigious confectionery workshop at the Warsaw Bristol Hotel,
where he meets Elżbieta – daughter of the master confectioner and his future wife.
Zbigniew and Elżbieta Grycan become owners of the famous
Warsaw ice cream parlour at 11 Puławska Street.
We establish the Grycan brand
and are the first in Poland to offer ice cream in more than 50 flavours to our customers.
We open the 100th ice cream parlour with a wide range of ice cream, cakes and coffees.
The 100th ice cream flavour appears at Grycan ice cream parlours – chocolate with orange and almonds.
The opening of the 150th Grycan ice cream parlour.
